Air Fryer French Fries

Ingredients:

  • 2 large russet potatoes (or your choice of potatoes)
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, or any other spices you like

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Potatoes:
    • Wash and peel the potatoes (if desired). Cut them into even strips (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick) for uniform cooking.
  2. Soak the Fries (optional but recommended):
    • Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and can make them crispier. Drain and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. Season the Fries:
    • In a large bowl, toss the dried potato strips with olive oil, salt, and any optional seasonings you prefer until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Air Fry the Fries:
    • Place the fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches). Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  6. Check for Crispiness:
    • Continue cooking until they are golden brown and crispy. If you prefer them crispier, you can add a few more minutes.
  7. Serve:
    • Once done, remove the fries from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

Tips:

  • Don’t Overcrowd: Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket for the best results.
  • Storage: Leftover fries can be stored in the refrigerator for a couple of days and reheated in the air fryer to regain crispiness.
