Here’s a simple and tasty recipe for air fryer Parmesan-crusted chicken that’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside!

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko works well for extra crunch)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for extra crispiness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). If your air fryer doesn’t require preheating, skip this step.
  2. Make the coating:
    • In a shallow dish, combine the Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Prepare the egg wash:
    • In another bowl, beat the egg. If you want a crispier coating, you can mix in a tablespoon of olive oil.
  4. Coat the chicken:
    • Dip each chicken breast into the egg, letting any excess drip off. Then, coat it in the Parmesan-breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure it sticks well.
  5. Air fry the chicken:
    • Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
  6. Serve:
    • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or alongside a salad or vegetables.
