Here’s a classic Apple Crisp recipe that’s easy to make, perfectly spiced, and topped with a buttery, crunchy oat topping. Serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate comfort dessert!

📝 Ingredients

Apple Filling:

  • 6 cups apples (peeled, cored & sliced – Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or a mix)

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • ⅓ cup brown sugar (or maple syrup)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (or flour)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp nutmeg

  • ¼ tsp salt

Crisp Topping:

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour (or almond flour for GF)

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ½ cup cold butter, cubed (or coconut oil for vegan)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep Apples:

  • Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, then mix in brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  • Spread evenly in a greased 9×9″ baking dish (or pie dish).

2️⃣ Make Topping:

  • In a bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

  • Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter (or fingers) until crumbly.

3️⃣ Assemble & Bake:

  • Sprinkle topping over apples.

  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35-40 mins until golden and bubbly.

4️⃣ Serve Warm:

  • Let cool 10 mins, then top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

  • Extra crunch? Add ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans to the topping.

  • Juicier filling? Use sweeter apples (like Fuji) and reduce sugar.
