Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants

Ingredients

  • 6 croissants (store-bought or homemade)
  • 6 slices of ham (or deli ham)
  • 6 slices of cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or your choice)
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted (for brushing)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the croissants:
    • Slice each croissant in half horizontally, like a sandwich bun.
  3. Assemble the croissants:
    • Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each croissant (if using).
    • Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on top of the mustard.
    • Replace the top half of the croissant.
  4. Brush with butter:
    • Lightly brush the tops of the croissants with melted butter.
  5. Bake:
    • Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are golden brown.
  6. Garnish and serve:
    • Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley (if using) and serve warm.

Tips

  • Add-ins: Add sliced tomatoes, spinach, or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
  • Make ahead: Assemble the croissants the night before, cover, and refrigerate. Bake them in the morning for a fresh, warm breakfast.
  • Serving suggestion: Pair with a side salad or soup for a light meal.

These Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants are a simple yet satisfying treat that’s perfect for any time of day. Enjoy! 🥐🧀✨
