Baked Old Bay Oyster Crackers Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups oyster crackers
  • 1/4 cup olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Salt to taste (optional, as Old Bay already contains salt)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Season the Crackers:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil (or melted butter), Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika (if using). Mix well.
    • Add the oyster crackers to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Bake:
    • Spread the seasoned crackers in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the crackers are crispy and golden.
  4. Cool and Serve:
    • Let the crackers cool completely on the baking sheet. They will crisp up further as they cool.
    • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Tips:

  • Spice Level: Adjust the amount of Old Bay seasoning to suit your taste. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
  • Variations: Experiment with other seasonings like ranch powder, Italian seasoning, or taco seasoning for different flavor profiles.
  • Serving Ideas: These crackers are great on their own, as a topping for soups or salads, or as a party snack.

These Baked Old Bay Oyster Crackers are a quick, addictive, and versatile snack that’s perfect for any occasion. Let me know if you try them or need more snack ideas! 😊🍘
