  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed (~1 cup)

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

  • 1 cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts, pecans – optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease lightly.

  2. Cook Mixture: In a saucepan, combine mashed bananas, sugar, butter, and condensed milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves (~5 mins).

  3. Boil Gently: Bring to a gentle boil (avoid scorching). Reduce heat to low and simmer for 8–10 mins, stirring frequently, until thickened (should coat the back of a spoon).

  4. Finish: Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla, white chocolate chips, and nuts (if using) until smooth.

  5. Set & Chill: Pour into the prepared pan. Cool at room temp for 30 mins, then refrigerate 2+ hours until firm.

  6. Cut & Serve: Slice into squares. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

  • For a smoother texture, blend the bananas first.

  • For richer flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or salt.
