Ingredients

  • For the Rice Krispie Layer:
    • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 10 ounces mini marshmallows
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Banana Pudding Layer:
    • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant banana pudding mix
    • 2 cups cold milk
    • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped
    • 1 cup sliced bananas
    • 1 cup vanilla wafer cookies, crushed

Instructions

Rice Krispie Layer:

  1. Prepare the Pan:
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows:
    • In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
    • Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until melted.
    • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Mix with Cereal:
    • Remove the pot from heat and add the Rice Krispies cereal.
    • Stir until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Press into Pan:
    • Using a buttered spatula or wax paper, press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
    • Let it cool and set for about 10 minutes.

Banana Pudding Layer:

  1. Prepare Pudding:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant banana pudding mix and cold milk until thickened, about 2 minutes.
    • Fold in the whipped cream gently until well combined.
  2. Assemble:
    • Spread the banana pudding mixture evenly over the cooled Rice Krispie layer.
    • Arrange the sliced bananas evenly over the pudding layer.
    • Sprinkle the crushed vanilla wafers on top.
  3. Chill:
    • Refrigerate the assembled dessert for at least 1 hour, or until set.

Serving

  • Cut and Serve:
    • Once set, cut the Banana Pudding Rice Krispie Treats into squares and serve chilled.
