Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuits 🧈✨

These ultra-flaky, buttery biscuits are so rich and tender they taste like a million bucks—hence the name! The secret? 7-Up (or Sprite) and sour cream for an unbeatable texture.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted

  • 4½ cups Bisquick (or similar baking mix)

  • 1 cup 7-Up, Sprite, or lemon-lime soda (not diet)

  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream (avoid light for best results)


Instructions

  1. Prep the pan:

    • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

    • Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading evenly.

  2. Make the dough:

    • In a large bowl, mix Bisquick, sour cream, and 7-Up until just combined (do not overmix—it will be sticky).

  3. Shape & arrange:

    • Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat into a 1-inch-thick rectangle.

    • Cut into 12 squares (or use a biscuit cutter for rounds).

    • Place biscuits into the buttered pan, turning each to coat in butter.

  4. Bake to golden perfection:

    • Bake for 12–15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

    • Optional: Brush tops with extra melted butter right out of the oven.

  5. Serve warm & enjoy!

    • Pull apart and savor the flaky, buttery layers.


Tips for Success

  • Don’t overwork the dough—keeps biscuits tender.

  • Substitutions:

    • Use club soda + 1 tsp sugar if no lemon-lime soda.

    • Buttermilk can replace sour cream for a tangier taste.

  • Storage: Best fresh, but reheat in oven or air fryer to revive crispness.
