Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the buttermilk to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Prepare the Baking Dish:
- Pour the melted butter into an 8×8-inch baking dish, making sure it evenly coats the bottom.
- Add the Dough:
- Drop the biscuit dough by spoonfuls into the baking dish, directly into the melted butter. Use a spatula to spread the dough out evenly.
- Score the Dough:
- Using a knife, score the dough into 9 squares. This will make it easier to cut the biscuits after baking.
- Bake the Biscuits:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let the biscuits cool in the dish for a few minutes before cutting along the scored lines and serving.
