Ingredients

  • 2 lbs kielbasa sausage (cut into bite-sized rounds)

  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (or chili sauce for extra tang)

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (optional, for balance)

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional, for brightness)


Instructions

  1. Prep the sausage

    • Slice kielbasa into ½-inch thick rounds.

  2. Make the sauce

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, barbecue sauce (or chili sauce), mustard, and vinegar until smooth.

  3. Cook

    • Slow Cooker Method: Add sausage and sauce to a slow cooker. Stir to coat. Cook on LOW 4–5 hours or HIGH 2–3 hours, stirring occasionally.

    • Oven Method: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place sausage in a baking dish, pour sauce over, and toss to coat. Bake 45–50 minutes, stirring once or twice, until sauce thickens and caramelizes.

  4. Serve

    • Transfer to a serving dish. Insert cocktail picks or toothpicks for easy snacking.
