Here’s a tasty recipe for cheese-stuffed flatbread that’s easy to make and perfect as a snack or appetizer!

Cheese Stuffed Flatbread Recipe

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, feta, or a mix)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (like parsley, cilantro, or dill)
  • Optional: 1/4 cup crumbled feta or goat cheese for added flavor

Instructions

  1. Make the Dough:
    • In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, combine the shredded cheese and herbs. Mix well.
  3. Shape the Flatbreads:
    • Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it into a circle (about 6-8 inches in diameter) on a floured surface.
  4. Fill the Flatbreads:
    • Place a generous amount of the cheese filling in the center of each circle. Fold the edges over the filling to enclose it and pinch to seal.
  5. Cook the Flatbreads:
    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease it with oil. Cook each stuffed flatbread for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly. Serve warm, with a side of yogurt or dipping sauce if desired.
