Cheesy Baked Goulash Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (with juices)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni (or your favorite pasta)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Cook the Meat:

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Add the diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper (if using). Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

3. Combine Ingredients:

  • Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, elbow macaroni, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

4. Cook the Pasta:

  • Cook the mixture for about 8-10 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

5. Assemble the Goulash:

  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the top.

6. Bake:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

7. Serve:

  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
