Cheesy Quick Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional for a slightly sweet contrast)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C. Grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper).
  2. Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Add Cheese: Stir in the shredded cheese to the dry ingredients, making sure it’s evenly distributed.
  4. Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, and honey (if using).
  5. Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should be thick.
  6. Pour into Pan: Transfer the batter to your prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake: Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and cool on a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!

Variations:

  • Herbed Cheesy Bread: Add 1-2 teaspoons of dried herbs like rosemary, thyme, or parsley for extra flavor.
  • Spicy Cheesy Bread: Stir in 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or some finely chopped jalapeños for a kick.
  • Other Cheeses: Experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella, gouda, or parmesan for different flavors.

This bread is great as a side to soups, salads, or just on its own with a bit of butter!
