Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for a Chocolate Cake! This recipe will give you a moist and rich chocolate cake that’s perfect for any occasion.

Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 100 g cake flour
  • 20 g cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 50 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 120 ml milk (or buttermilk for extra moistness)

For the Frosting (Optional):

  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 50 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1-2 tbsp cocoa powder (optional for extra chocolate flavor)
  • 1-2 tbsp milk (as needed)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan (8-inch or 9-inch).

2. Prepare the dry ingredients:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3. Cream the butter and sugar:

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

4. Add the egg and vanilla:

  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients:

  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in batches, alternating with the milk. Start with the dry ingredients and finish with the milk, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.

6. Pour the batter into the pan:

  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

7. Bake the cake:

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

8. Cool the cake:

  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

9. (Optional) Make the frosting:

  • If you’re frosting the cake, beat together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Add cocoa powder (if using), milk, and a pinch of salt, then mix until you reach your desired frosting consistency.
  • Frost the cake once it’s completely cool.

10. Serve:

  • Slice and enjoy your homemade chocolate cake! It’s perfect on its own or topped with frosting or whipped cream.
