Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Classic BBQ Ribs that you can make at home!
Classic BBQ Ribs Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 racks of baby back ribs (about 2-3 pounds each)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Ribs:
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness. Use a paper towel to grip it and pull it off.
2. Make the Dry Rub:
- In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
3. Season the Ribs:
- Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Make sure to coat them evenly.
4. Bake the Ribs:
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil (meat side up) and cover them with another piece of foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
5. Glaze with BBQ Sauce:
- Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the ribs generously with BBQ sauce.
- Increase the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and return the ribs to the oven (uncovered) for an additional 30 minutes, brushing with more BBQ sauce halfway through.
6. Serve:
- Once the ribs are nicely caramelized and sticky, remove them from the oven. Let them rest for a few minutes before cutting into individual ribs.
Enjoy!
