Corn Dog Casserole Recipe
Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 30-35 mins | Servings: 6-8
Ingredients:
-
8-10 hot dogs, sliced into coins (or diced)
-
1 box (8.5 oz) Jiffy corn muffin mix
-
1 egg
-
⅓ cup milk
-
1 can (14.75 oz) cream-style corn
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
-
2 tbsp butter, melted
-
1 tbsp yellow mustard (or Dijon)
-
1 tbsp honey (optional, for sweetness)
-
½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9-inch or 2-quart baking dish.
-
Prepare cornbread batter – In a bowl, mix Jiffy mix, egg, milk, cream-style corn, melted butter, mustard, honey, and garlic powder until combined.
-
Layer hot dogs – Spread half the batter in the dish, then layer hot dog slices evenly on top. Sprinkle with ½ cup cheese.
-
Top with remaining batter – Pour the rest of the cornbread mixture over the hot dogs.
-
Bake – Place in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden and set.
-
Add cheese – Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup cheese on top and bake 2-3 more minutes until melted.
-
Cool & serve – Let sit for 5 minutes, then slice and enjoy with ketchup & mustard!
Variations:
-
Spicy kick – Use jalapeño cheddar hot dogs or add diced jalapeños.
-
Extra cheesy – Mix 1 cup diced Velveeta into the batter.
-
Crunchy topping – Sprinkle French’s fried onions or crushed Ritz crackers on top before baking.
This casserole tastes just like a deconstructed corn dog—savory, slightly sweet, and super comforting! Great for kids (and adults) who love corn dogs. 😋
