Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter)
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for a hint of smokiness)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Sear the Chicken:
    • Heat the olive oil (or butter) in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant (be careful not to burn it).
    • Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
    • Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
  4. Combine and Serve:
    • Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes to heat the chicken through.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Tips:

  • Chicken Thighs: You can use boneless, skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts for extra juiciness.
  • Add Veggies: Stir in spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Serve With: Pair with mashed potatoes, pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
