🍫 Crinkle Top Brownies (Fudgy, Crackly & Perfect Every Time!)

These classic crinkle-top brownies have a shiny, crackly crust and an ultra-fudgy center—just like the bakery ones! Made with simple ingredients and no mixer required.


⏲️ Prep Time: 10 mins | Bake Time: 25-30 mins | Makes: 16 brownies


📝 Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed

  • 2 large eggs + 1 egg yolk (for extra fudginess!)

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour (or GF 1:1 blend)

  • ½ cup cocoa powder (Dutch-processed preferred)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

1️⃣ Mix Wet Ingredients

  1. Whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

  2. Beat in eggs, yolk, and vanilla vigorously for 1-2 mins (key for crackly tops!).

2️⃣ Add Dry Ingredients

  1. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt; fold gently until just combined.

  2. Stir in chocolate chips (if using).

3️⃣ Bake to Perfection

  1. Pour into a greased 8×8-inch pan, smooth top.

  2. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 mins (center should be slightly gooey).

  3. Cool 1 hour before slicing (patience = clean cuts!).

✔ For THICKER brownies: Use a 9×9 pan and bake 30-35 mins.
✔ Shinier crust? Use Dutch-process cocoa and whisk eggs + sugar extra long.
✔ Storage: Keep in an airtight container for 4 days (or freeze for 2 months).
