Crispy Chicken Breast with Velvety Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • For the Chicken:
    • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko works great for extra crunch)
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp paprika
    • 1 large egg
    • 2 tbsp milk
    • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter (for frying)
  • For the Cream Sauce:
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Breading Process:
    • Set up a breading station with three bowls:
      • One with flour.
      • One with a whisked egg and milk.
      • One with a mix of breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  3. Cook the Chicken:
    • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest on a paper towel.
  4. Make the Cream Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Add the Parmesan cheese and thyme, and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly (about 3-5 minutes). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve:
    • Slice the crispy chicken breast and arrange it on plates. Drizzle with the creamy sauce and garnish with chopped parsley.
