Here’s a delicious recipe for crispy chicken strips that are perfect for dipping and easy to make at home!

Crispy Chicken Strips Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar added)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko for extra crunch)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions:

1. Marinate the Chicken:

  • In a bowl, soak the chicken strips in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight in the refrigerator). This helps tenderize the chicken.

2. Prepare the Coating:

  • In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • In another shallow dish, place the breadcrumbs.

3. Dredge the Chicken:

  • Remove the chicken strips from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Dredge each strip in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess, then dip back into the buttermilk, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

4. Heat the Oil:

  • In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F/175°C).

5. Fry the Chicken Strips:

  • Carefully add the coated chicken strips to the hot oil in batches, without overcrowding the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked chicken strips to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

6. Serve:

  • Serve the crispy chicken strips hot with your favorite dipping sauces, such as honey mustard, ranch, or barbecue sauce.
