Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs (680g) steak (sirloin, ribeye, or chuck), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 large russet potatoes, diced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions or parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients:
    • Cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble it. Set aside.
    • Dice the potatoes and chop the onion.
  2. Layer in the crockpot:
    • In a 6-quart crockpot, combine the diced steak, potatoes, and onion. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using). Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Cook:
    • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the steak is tender and the potatoes are cooked through.
  4. Add cheese and bacon:
    • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the top. Cover and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  5. Serve:
