Ingredients
-
4 thick (1-inch) pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
-
4 tbsp brown sugar, packed
-
4 tbsp butter
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp smoked paprika (optional, for depth)
-
Salt & black pepper to taste
-
Fresh thyme or parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
1. Season the Pork Chops
-
Pat chops dry with paper towels.
-
Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
2. Sear the Chops
-
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tbsp butter.
-
Sear chops for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temp reaches 145°F (63°C). Remove and set aside.
3. Make the Glaze
-
Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining 2 tbsp butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
-
Stir until sugar dissolves and sauce thickens slightly (1-2 minutes).
4. Glaze & Serve
-
Return chops to the skillet, spooning glaze over them. Cook for 1-2 more minutes to caramelize.
-
Garnish with fresh herbs and drizzle with extra pan sauce.
Serving Suggestions
-
Pair with mashed potatoes or roasted veggies.
-
For extra flavor, deglaze the pan with 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar before making the glaze.
Tips
-
Don’t overcrowd the pan—cook in batches if needed.
-
For thicker glaze? Add 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water.
