Dr. Pepper Ice Cream Recipe 🥤🍦

A creamy, fizzy, and nostalgic treat that captures the unique 23-flavor magic of Dr. Pepper in ice cream form! No ice cream maker needed.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 can (12 oz) Dr. Pepper (regular or diet, but regular works best)

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream (very cold)

  • Optional:

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract (enhances flavor)

    • Pinch of salt (balances sweetness)

    • Chocolate syrup or cherry jam for swirls


Instructions

  1. Reduce the Dr. Pepper:

    • In a saucepan, simmer the Dr. Pepper over medium heat until reduced to ½ cup (about 15–20 mins). It should be syrupy.

    • Cool completely (speed this up in the fridge).

  2. Whip the Cream:

    • In a chilled bowl, beat the cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  3. Fold Everything Together:

    • Gently mix the reduced Dr. Pepper and sweetened condensed milk (plus vanilla/salt if using).

    • Fold in the whipped cream until just combined—don’t overmix!

  4. Freeze:

    • Pour into a loaf pan or airtight container.

    • Optional: Drizzle with chocolate syrup or cherry jam and swirl with a knife.

    • Freeze 6+ hours (or overnight) until firm.

🔹 Don’t skip reducing the soda—it concentrates flavor and prevents iciness.
🔹 For extra fizz flavor, add 1 tsp citric acid (or a splash of fresh Dr. Pepper before freezing).
