Easter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (you can use milk, dark, or white chocolate)
  • Optional: Colorful Easter-themed candy (like mini chocolate eggs or pastel candies) for an extra festive touch

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

2. Mix the dry ingredients:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3. Cream the butter and sugars:

  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

4. Add the eggs and vanilla:

  • Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Combine the dry and wet ingredients:

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

6. Stir in the chocolate chips:

  • Fold in the chocolate chips (and any optional Easter candy) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

7. Shape the cookies:

  • Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

8. Bake:

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft. The cookies will firm up as they cool.

9. Cool and enjoy:

  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

These Easter Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with chocolate. If you add the pastel candy, it gives them a fun and festive touch perfect for the holiday! Enjoy! 🍪🐰🌸
