Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15oz) can tomato sauce (or marinara)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt & pepper (to taste)
- 1 (16oz) package rotini pasta (or elbow macaroni)
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella blend)
- ½ cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Optional Add-Ins:
- 1 cup diced bell peppers
- ½ cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (for heat)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Cook Pasta & Beef:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook pasta al dente (1-2 mins less than package instructions), drain, and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
2️⃣ Mix Sauce & Combine:
- Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 2 mins.
- In a large bowl, mix cooked pasta, beef sauce, sour cream, and 1 cup cheddar cheese.
3️⃣ Assemble & Bake:
- Transfer to a 9×13″ baking dish, top with remaining cheddar & Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake 20 mins. Uncover, broil 2-3 mins for a golden crust.
4️⃣ Serve:
- Garnish with fresh parsley or basil.
