Easy Cherry Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups cherries (fresh, frozen, or canned—if using canned, drain the juice)
  • Optional: vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter:
    • Place the butter in a 9×9-inch baking dish (or a similar-sized oven-safe dish). Put the dish in the oven while it preheats to melt the butter. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
  3. Prepare the batter:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
    • Add the milk and vanilla extract, and stir until just combined. The batter will be slightly lumpy—that’s okay!
  4. Assemble the cobbler:
    • Once the butter has melted, carefully remove the baking dish from the oven. Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter—do not stir.
    • Scatter the cherries evenly over the batter. They will sink slightly as the cobbler bakes.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Serve:
    • Let the cobbler cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. It’s delicious on its own or topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Tips:

  • Use other fruits: Swap the cherries for blueberries, peaches, blackberries, or a mix of your favorite fruits.
  • Add a crunchy topping: Sprinkle a handful of coarse sugar or chopped nuts (like almonds or pecans) over the batter before baking for extra texture.
  • Make it ahead: This cobbler can be made a few hours in advance and reheated before serving.

Enjoy this Easy Cherry Cobbler—it’s a crowd-pleasing dessert that’s as simple as it is delicious! Let me know if you’d like more dessert ideas. 😊
