Eat Fried Potatoes and Onions

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Peel and thinly slice the potatoes. Thinly slice the onion.
  2. Heat the Oil:
    • In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Cook the Potatoes:
    • Add the sliced potatoes to the skillet in a single layer. Let them cook undisturbed for 5-7 minutes until they start to turn golden brown.
  4. Add the Onions:
    • Add the sliced onions to the skillet. Stir to combine with the potatoes. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using).
  5. Fry Until Golden and Crispy:
    • Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy, and the onions are caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Adjust the heat as needed to prevent burning.
  6. Serve:
    • Transfer the fried potatoes and onions to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
