Here’s a classic and easy recipe for fluffy pancakes that everyone will love!

Fluffy Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk with 1 tbsp vinegar added)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (plus more for cooking)
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Combine Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using).
  3. Combine Mixtures:
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; it’s okay if there are a few lumps. Do not overmix.
  4. Preheat the Pan:
    • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter.
  5. Cook the Pancakes:
    • Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve warm with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
