resno Poppers

Spicy, creamy, and totally addictive! These stuffed Fresno peppers are the perfect balance of heat and cool, creamy filling—great for game day, BBQs, or a bold appetizer.

Ingredients

(Makes 12 poppers)

  • 12 Fresno peppers (sub jalapeños for milder heat)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese
  • 2 tbsp sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro or chives
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For Topping (Optional)

  • 2 tbsp honey (to balance heat)
  • Extra bacon crumbles

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep Peppers

  • Slice peppers lengthwise, remove seeds/membranes (wear gloves if sensitive to heat).
  • Blanch in boiling water for 1-2 mins to soften (optional for milder spice).

2️⃣ Make Filling

  • Mix cream cheese, cheddar, sour cream, spices, bacon, and herbs.

3️⃣ Stuff & Bake

  • Fill peppers, place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-18 mins until bubbly.
  • Optional: Drizzle with honey & broil 1-2 mins for caramelization.

Serving Ideas

🔥 Spicy Lovers: Add diced jalapeños to the filling.
🧀 Cheesy Twist: Top with extra cheese before baking.
🍯 Sweet-Heat: Finish with honey or balsamic glaze.

Pro Tip: Fresnos are hotter than jalapeños but sweeter—taste one first to gauge heat!

Pair with a cold beer or ranch dip to cool the burn. 😉 🌶️

Want an air-fryer version? Just cook at 370°F for 8-10 mins!
