Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Mash Recipe
Ingredients
For the Steak Bites:
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Mashed Potatoes:
- 2 lbs potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), peeled and chopped
- 1/2 cup milk (adjust for creaminess)
- 1/4 cup butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: garlic powder or cream cheese for added flavor
Instructions
- Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
- Boil the chopped potatoes in a large pot of salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, and any optional ingredients. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.
- Cook the Steak Bites:
- Season the steak cubes with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites in a single layer (cook in batches if necessary).
- Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Garlic Butter:
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Return the steak bites to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the garlic butter. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
- Serve:
- Plate the creamy mashed potatoes and top with the garlic butter steak bites. Garnish with chopped parsley.
