Garlic Chicken Lo Mein 🥢🍜

Tender chicken, chewy noodles, and a savory garlic sauce—ready in 20 minutes!


Ingredients (Serves 4)

Main Components:

  • 8 oz (225g) lo mein noodles (or spaghetti in a pinch)

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)

  • 1 lb (450g) chicken breast, thinly sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup shredded carrots

  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (any color)

  • 2 cups baby bok choy or cabbage, chopped

Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • ½ tsp sugar

  • ¼ tsp white pepper

Garnish:

  • Green onions, sliced

  • Sesame seeds


Instructions

1️⃣ Prep & Cook Noodles

  1. Cook lo mein noodles according to package (usually 3–4 mins in boiling water). Drain and rinse with cold water.

2️⃣ Stir-Fry Chicken & Veggies

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok/large skillet over high heat.

  2. Add chicken and stir-fry until no longer pink (~4 mins). Remove and set aside.

  3. Add remaining 1 tbsp oil, then sauté garlic, carrots, bell peppers, and bok choy for 2–3 mins until crisp-tender.

3️⃣ Combine & Sauce

  1. Return chicken to the pan. Add cooked noodles and pour sauce over everything.

  2. Toss well for 1–2 mins until everything is coated and heated through.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.


Pro Tips

🔥 Extra kick: Add ½ tsp chili paste or red pepper flakes.
🍗 Shortcut: Use rotisserie chicken (skip step 2, just warm in pan).
🥢 Vegetarian: Swap chicken for tofu or mushrooms.
