Garlic Parmesan Fried Lamb Chops

Crispy, juicy lamb chops coated in garlicky Parmesan breadcrumbs—perfect for a quick and impressive meal!

Serves: 3–4

Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 10 mins


Ingredients:

  • 1–2 lbs lamb chops (rib or loin chops, ~1-inch thick)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crispiness)

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for smokiness)

  • Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or olive oil)

  • Lemon wedges & fresh parsley (for garnish)


Instructions:

1️⃣ Prep the Lamb:

  • Pat lamb chops dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt & pepper.

2️⃣ Set Up Breading Stations:

  • Station 1: Flour + ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp pepper, ½ tsp paprika (if using).

  • Station 2: Beaten egg + minced garlic (mix well).

  • Station 3: Breadcrumbs + Parmesan cheese (combine thoroughly).

3️⃣ Bread the Chops:

  • Dredge each chop in flour, shaking off excess.

  • Dip in the garlic-egg mixture, letting excess drip off.

  • Press into breadcrumb-Parmesan mix, coating evenly.

4️⃣ Fry to Perfection:

  • Heat ½ inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat (350°F).

  • Fry chops 2–3 at a time for 2–3 mins per side (for medium-rare) or until golden brown and internal temp reaches 145°F.

  • Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy:

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.

  • Pair with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a crisp salad.


Tips for Success:

🔥 For extra crispiness: Double-coat by repeating the egg and breadcrumb step.
🍖 Don’t overcrowd the pan—fry in batches to maintain oil temperature.
🧄 Garlic butter finish: Melt 2 tbsp butter with minced garlic and drizzle over chops before serving.
