Grilled Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich

Crispy, gooey, and irresistibly sweet—this Elvis-inspired sandwich is pure comfort!

Why It Works

  • Creamy peanut butter melts into warm bananas for a luscious filling.

  • Mayonnaise (instead of butter) creates an extra-crispy, golden crust without tasting mayo-y.

  • Hits all the notes: Sweet, salty, crunchy, and nostalgic.

Ingredients (Makes 2 sandwiches)

  • 4 slices thick white bread (brioche or Texas toast works too)

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (or softened butter for classic version)

  • 4 tbsp creamy peanut butter

  • 1 large banana, sliced into ¼-inch rounds

  • 1 tbsp honey (optional, for extra sweetness)

  • Pinch of cinnamon (optional, for warmth)

Instructions

1️⃣ Build the Sandwich

  1. Spread 1 tbsp peanut butter on one side of each bread slice.

  2. Layer banana slices on two of the slices. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle cinnamon if using.

  3. Close sandwiches with the remaining bread slices (peanut butter side in).

2️⃣ Grill to Perfection

  1. Spread mayonnaise on the outer sides of the bread (this replaces butter for crisping).

  2. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Cook sandwiches for 2–3 mins per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and peanut butter is melty.

3️⃣ Slice & Serve

  • Cut diagonally and enjoy immediately!

Pro Tips

🔥 Elvis Upgrade: Add 2 strips of cooked bacon for sweet-salty-crunchy magic.
🍯 Extra Gooey? Swap honey for marshmallow fluff.
🥜 Crunchy Twist: Use chunky peanut butter or sprinkle crushed peanuts inside.

Warning: Highly addictive! 🍌🥜🔥
