Homemade Peanut Butter Frosting 🥜✨

Creamy, rich, and irresistibly peanut buttery—this easy frosting is perfect for cakes, cupcakes, brownies, or eating straight from the bowl!


🍽️ Ingredients (Frosts 12 cupcakes or one 9×13″ cake)

  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113g) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup (250g) creamy peanut butter (not natural/oily—use shelf-stable like Jif or Skippy)

  • 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar, sifted

  • 2-3 tbsp milk (or heavy cream for extra richness)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt


👩🍳 Instructions

  1. Beat Butter & Peanut Butter:

    • In a large bowl, beat butter and peanut butter together until smooth and fluffy (~2 mins).

  2. Add Sugar & Liquids:

    • Gradually mix in powdered sugar, ½ cup at a time.

    • Add vanilla, salt, and 2 tbsp milk. Beat until combined.

    • Adjust consistency: Add 1 more tbsp milk if too thick, or extra powdered sugar if too thin.

  3. Frost & Enjoy:

    • Spread or pipe onto cooled cakes/cupcakes.

✅ Chocolate twist? Add ¼ cup cocoa powder or melt in ½ cup chocolate chips.
