Difficulty Level:
- Medium
Ingredients:
- 2 racks of baby back ribs (about 4 pounds)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Ribs:
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for more tender results. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
- Place the ribs on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
- Make the Marinade:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, ground ginger, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Marinate the Ribs:
- Pour half of the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Reserve the other half of the marinade for basting.
- Cover the ribs with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
- Baste and Broil:
- After 1 hour, remove the foil and baste the ribs with some of the reserved marinade.
- Increase the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and continue baking the ribs uncovered for another 30 minutes, basting every 10 minutes with the remaining marinade.
- Finish the Ribs:
- For extra caramelization, you can broil the ribs for 3-5 minutes on high after the 30 minutes of baking, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before cutting into individual ribs.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish the ribs with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve the honey garlic ribs hot with your favorite sides.
