Honey Mustard Ham Steak

Ingredients:

  • 2 ham steaks (about 1-inch thick)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard (or yellow mustard, depending on your preference)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (optional, for a tangy kick)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Honey Mustard Glaze:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar (if using). Set the glaze aside.
  2. Cook the Ham Steaks:

    • Heat the olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Season the ham steaks with a pinch of salt and pepper on both sides.
    • Once the pan is hot, add the ham steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely browned and heated through.
  3. Add the Honey Mustard Glaze:

    • Once the ham steaks are cooked, reduce the heat to low. Pour the honey mustard glaze over the ham steaks, making sure they are evenly coated.
    • Let the glaze simmer and thicken for 2-3 minutes, spooning some of the glaze over the steaks as it thickens. This will give the ham steaks a nice, sticky coating.
  4. Serve:

    • Transfer the ham steaks to plates and drizzle with any remaining glaze from the pan.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Tips:

  • Side Dish Pairings: Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad for a well-rounded meal.
  • Make It Spicy: For a spicy twist, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the glaze.
  • Use Leftover Ham: This recipe works great with leftover ham steaks from a larger roast.

Honey Mustard Ham Steak is a quick and delicious dish that brings together sweet and savory flavors in every bite. Perfect for weeknights or special gatherings! Enjoy! 🍯🥩
