Keto Turkish Bread
This Keto Turkish Bread is soft, fluffy, and low in carbs, making it a perfect option for those on a ketogenic diet. It’s ideal for serving with dips, soups, or as a side to your favorite Mediterranean dishes.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups almond flour
- 1 tablespoon psyllium husk powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 ounces cream cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
- Sesame seeds or nigella seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, psyllium husk powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella and cream cheese. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
- Add the eggs to the dry ingredients and mix well. Quickly add the melted cheese mixture to the bowl and knead (using your hands or a spatula) until a smooth dough forms. The dough will be sticky, but it should hold together.
- Shape the Bread:
- Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a flat oval or rectangle, about 1/2-inch thick. Use your fingers or a fork to create traditional indentations on the surface.
- Add Toppings:
- Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds or nigella seeds, if desired.
- Bake:
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Tips:
- If the dough is too sticky to handle, lightly grease your hands with olive oil.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder or dried herbs to the dough.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for a fresh-baked texture.
