Louisiana Sunburst Dressing 🌞

A vibrant, tangy-sweet Southern-style dressing with a citrusy kick—perfect for salads, grilled chicken, or drizzling over fresh summer veggies!


🍊 Ingredients

  • ½ cup vegetable oil (or light olive oil)

  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

  • 3 tbsp fresh orange juice (or tangerine juice for extra sweetness)

  • 2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp Creole or Cajun seasoning (like Tony Chachere’s)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped green onion or fresh parsley (garnish)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Blend the Base:

    • In a jar or blender, combine oil, vinegar, orange juice, honey, Dijon, Creole seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne. Shake or blend until smooth.

  2. Adjust & Season:

    • Taste and add salt/pepper as needed. For more sweetness, add extra honey; for tang, add a splash of vinegar.

  3. Serve:

    • Drizzle over mixed greens, grilled shrimp, or a blackened chicken salad. Garnish with green onions.


🌶️ Variations

  • Creamy Version: Add 2 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt.

  • Smoky Twist: Substitute 1 tbsp smoked paprika for Cajun seasoning.

  • Herb Boost: Stir in 1 tsp fresh thyme or tarragon.

This dressing is bright, zesty, and packed with Louisiana flair—great for livening up any dish!
