M&M Cookies (Chocolate Chip Cookie Base)

Classic chewy cookies packed with colorful M&Ms—perfect for parties, holidays, or anytime cravings strike!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup (165g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups (260g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (180g) M&Ms (plus extra for pressing on top)

Instructions

  1. Cream butter & sugars in a large bowl until fluffy (~3 mins). Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  2. Dry ingredients: Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually mix into wet ingredients.
  3. Fold in chocolate chips and M&Ms (reserve some for topping).
  4. Chill dough for 30 mins (optional, but prevents overspreading).
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Scoop 2-tbsp balls of dough onto baking sheets, spacing 2″ apart. Press extra M&Ms on top.
  6. Bake 9-11 mins until edges are golden but centers look slightly underdone. Cool on the pan for 5 mins.
