Here’s a simple recipe for No-Knead Soft Bread that’s easy to make and produces a delicious, fluffy loaf!

No-Knead Soft Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water (about 110°F/43°C)
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon olive oil (for added flavor)

Instructions:

1. Mix the Dough:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and instant yeast. Stir to mix well.
  • Add the warm water (and olive oil if using) to the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon or spatula until the mixture forms a shaggy dough. Ensure all the flour is incorporated.

2. First Rise:

  • Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel. Let the dough rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours, or until it has doubled in size and has bubbles on the surface.

3. Shape the Dough:

  • After the first rise, turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface. With floured hands, gently shape the dough into a ball. Avoid overworking the dough.

4. Second Rise:

  • Place the shaped dough on a floured piece of parchment paper. Cover it with a kitchen towel and let it rise for another 1-2 hours, or until it has puffed up.

5. Preheat the Oven:

  • About 30 minutes before baking, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a Dutch oven (with the lid) inside to heat.

6. Bake the Bread:

  • Once the oven is preheated, carefully remove the hot Dutch oven. Lift the parchment with the dough and place it into the Dutch oven (you can also sprinkle a bit of flour on the bottom of the pot to prevent sticking).
  • Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.

7. Cool:

  • Remove the bread from the Dutch oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
