Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Butter or oil for cooking

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Batter:
    • In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
    • Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using). Mix until smooth.
  2. Heat Griddle:
    • Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil.
  3. Cook Pancakes:
    • Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancakes and the edges start to look dry, about 2-3 minutes.
    • Flip with a spatula and cook until browned on the other side, about 1-2 minutes more.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve hot with butter, syrup, fresh fruits, or your favorite toppings.
