Oven-baked Beef Ribs

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for oven-baked beef ribs that results in tender, flavorful meat!

Ingredients

  • 3-4 pounds beef ribs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite)
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Prepare the ribs:
    • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (if not already done). Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
  3. Season the ribs:
    • In a small bowl, mix together salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the ribs.
  4. Arrange the ribs:
    • Place the seasoned ribs in a large roasting pan, bone side down. Pour the beef broth or water into the bottom of the pan (this helps keep the ribs moist).
  5. Cover and bake:
    • Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.
  6. Add barbecue sauce:
    • Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully take off the foil. Brush the ribs generously with barbecue sauce.
  7. Broil for finish:
    • Increase the oven temperature to broil. Return the ribs to the oven (uncovered) and broil for about 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly. Keep a close eye on them to avoid burning.
  8. Serve:
    • Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before cutting. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
