Shrimp Pastry Bites with Cheese Puffs

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of mini puff pastry shells (or you can use small puff pastry cups)
  • 200g cooked shrimp, peeled and chopped
  • 100g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or parsley, if preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 bag of cheese puffs (crushed, you’ll need about 1-1 ½ cups)
  • Fresh dill for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the shrimp filling:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, cream cheese, mayonnaise or sour cream, dill, lemon juice, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Mix until the ingredients are fully combined and the shrimp is well-coated in the creamy mixture.

2. Prepare the puff pastry cups:

  • If using mini puff pastry shells, bake them according to the package instructions and allow them to cool slightly.
  • Once baked, carefully scoop out a small portion from the center of each pastry shell to create space for the shrimp filling.

3. Crush the cheese puffs:

  • In a plastic bag or between parchment paper, crush the cheese puffs until they are finely broken into smaller pieces. These will be used for coating the bites.

4. Assemble the shrimp bites:

  • Spoon the creamy shrimp mixture into each pastry shell.
  • Once filled, gently dip the top of each shrimp-filled pastry into the crushed cheese puffs, pressing lightly to coat.

5. Garnish and serve:

  • Garnish each bite with a little fresh dill for a burst of color and freshness.
  • Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to an hour before serving.

These Shrimp Pastry Bites with Cheese Puffs are a surprising, luxurious treat that’s perfect for any Easter buffet or as a fun appetizer. The creamy shrimp filling paired with the crunchy, cheesy coating creates a delicious combination that will have everyone asking for more! 😍🐣 Enjoy!
