Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 25 mins | Servings: 4
Sweet, smoky, and juicy—no grill needed!
Ingredients
For the Burgers:
-
1 lb (450g) ground beef (80% lean)
-
4 pineapple rings (fresh or canned)
-
4 slices thick-cut bacon
-
4 slices cheddar cheese
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
½ tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
For the BBQ Glaze:
-
¼ cup BBQ sauce (choose smoky or sweet)
-
1 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
-
1 tsp sriracha (optional, for heat)
To Serve:
-
4 burger buns (or lettuce wraps for low-carb)
-
Red onion slices, lettuce, mayo (optional)
Instructions
1. Prep the Bacon & Pineapple
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil.
-
Arrange bacon on one side and pineapple rings on the other. Bake for 10 mins until bacon is crispy. Remove pineapple; flip bacon and bake 5 more mins. Drain on paper towels.
2. Make the Burger Patties
-
In a bowl, mix ground beef, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into 4 patties (slightly larger than buns; they’ll shrink).
-
Place patties on the same baking sheet (drain excess bacon fat first). Bake for 10 mins.
3. Glaze & Finish
-
Mix BBQ sauce, honey, and sriracha. Brush over patties.
-
Top each with cheese, a pineapple ring, and bacon. Return to oven for 3–5 mins until cheese melts.
4. Serve
-
Toast buns if desired. Assemble with burgers, extra BBQ glaze, and toppings.
Why This Works
-
Oven-baked bacon renders perfectly without splatter.
-
Pineapple caramelizes slightly, balancing the smoky BBQ.
-
No flipping needed—burgers cook evenly in the oven.
Pair with: Sweet potato fries or a tropical slaw! 🍍🥓🔥
Tip: For extra flavor, marinate pineapple rings in BBQ sauce before baking.
