 Pork Chops Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth (or stock)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or your favorite herb)
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Season and Dredge the Pork Chops:
    • Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
    • Dredge them in flour, shaking off any excess.
  2. Sear the Pork Chops:
    • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium-high heat.
    • Add the pork chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté Onions and Garlic:
    • In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
    • Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  4. Make the Gravy:
    • Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
    • Stir in Worcestershire sauce and thyme. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Return Pork Chops:
    • Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning some of the gravy over them.
    • Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 20-25 minutes until the pork chops are cooked through and tender.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the pork chops with the gravy spooned over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Tips:

  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or bread to soak up the delicious gravy!
  • You can add mushrooms or bell peppers to the gravy for extra flavor and texture.
