Quick Maple Bars Recipe
These Quick Maple Bars are a delightful, easy-to-make treat with a soft dough base and a rich maple glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack!
Ingredients
For the Bars:
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (like Pillsbury Grands)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Maple Glaze:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (pure or pancake syrup)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- Separate the biscuit dough and cut each biscuit in half to create rectangular shapes. Gently stretch or shape them into bar-like forms.
- Heat the Oil:
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Use a thermometer to ensure the oil reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the Bars:
- Carefully place a few dough pieces into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 1–2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove the bars with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Repeat with the remaining dough.
- Make the Glaze:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, melted butter, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk for a thinner glaze or more powdered sugar for a thicker glaze.
- Glaze the Bars:
- Once the bars are slightly cooled, dip the top of each one into the maple glaze or spoon it over the bars. Place them on a wire rack to let the glaze set.
- Serve:
- Serve the maple bars warm or at room temperature.
Tips:
- For a maple-bacon twist, sprinkle crumbled cooked bacon over the glaze while it’s still wet.
- Use a piping bag to drizzle chocolate or caramel for added flair.
Enjoy these quick and indulgent Maple Bars! 🍁🍩
