Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies �🍫

Indulge in the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and chewy with these decadent salted caramel chocolate chip cookies! They feature gooey caramel pockets, melty chocolate, and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt for an irresistible treat.


Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks / 227g) unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup (165g) packed brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs, room temp

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Mix-ins:

  • 1 ½ cups (250g) semisweet chocolate chips

  • ½ cup soft caramel bits (or chopped caramel squares)

  • Flaky sea salt (for topping)


Instructions

1️⃣ Prep – Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Mix dry ingredients – Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
3️⃣ Cream butter & sugars – Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (~3 mins).
4️⃣ Add eggs & vanilla – Mix in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
5️⃣ Combine dry & wet – Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing just until combined.
6️⃣ Fold in mix-ins – Gently stir in chocolate chips and caramel bits.
7️⃣ Scoop & bake – Drop 2-tbsp dough balls onto sheets, spacing 2″ apart. Bake 9-11 mins until edges are golden but centers are soft.
8️⃣ Salt & cool – Sprinkle with flaky sea salt right out of the oven. Let cool 5 mins before transferring to a rack.


Pro Tips

✨ For extra gooey caramel: Use Kraft caramel bits (they melt perfectly!).
✨ Chewier cookies: Chill dough 30 mins before baking.
✨ Storage: Keep in an airtight container for up to 5 days (if they last that long!).
