Sausage and Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls

- 1 lb (450g) ground breakfast sausage (mild, spicy, or your choice)
- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1/4 cup (60g) shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for added richness)
Instructions
- Cook the sausage:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Break it into small crumbles as it cooks.
- Drain any excess grease and set aside to cool slightly.
- Mix the filling:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, garlic powder (if using), and shredded cheddar cheese (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Prepare the crescent rolls:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles.
- Fill and roll:
- Place a spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture (about 1-2 tablespoons) onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
- Roll up the dough from the wide end to the pointed tip, enclosing the filling. Place on the prepared baking sheet with the tip side down.
