Sausage Ball Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, depending on your preference)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or mild, to taste)
  • 2 cups Bisques (or any biscuit mix)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (optional, to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Mix the ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, Bisquick, garlic powder, and black pepper.
Use your hands or a spoon to mix everything together until fully combined. The mixture will be thick, but that’s normal.
  3. Form the sausage balls:
Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter. You can make them larger or smaller, depending on your preference, but keep in mind that larger ones will take longer to cook.
  4. Bake:
Arrange the sausage balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the sausage is cooked through and the balls are golden brown on the outside.
  5. Serve:
Once the sausage balls are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Tips:

  • Cheese options: You can use different types of cheese for variation, such as Monterey Jack, mozzarella, or a cheese blend.
  • Spice it up: Add a little crushed red pepper or hot sauce to the sausage mixture for a spicier version.
  • Make ahead: You can make these sausage balls ahead of time! Simply freeze them before baking. To bake from frozen, just add a few extra minutes to the baking time.
  • Serving ideas: Serve with a dipping sauce like mustard, ranch, or a spicy aioli for an extra layer of flavor.

These Sausage Balls are incredibly versatile, easy to make, and always a hit. Enjoy them as a quick snack or at your next gathering!
