Seafood Boil Recipe

Ingredients

  • For the Boil:
    • 2 lbs small red potatoes
    • 1 lb corn on the cob, cut into halves or thirds
    • 1 lb andouille sausage, sliced
    • 2 lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined (or a mix of shrimp, crab, and clams)
    • 1 lb mussels or clams (optional)
    • 6-8 cups water
    • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning (or to taste)
    • 1 lemon, halved
    • 4-6 cloves garlic, minced
    • Salt, to taste
    • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Potatoes:
    • In a large pot, bring 6-8 cups of water to a boil. Add the potatoes and cook for about 10-15 minutes until they are tender but still firm.
  2. Add Sausage and Corn:
    • Once the potatoes are nearly done, add the sliced sausage and corn to the pot. Continue to boil for another 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add Seasoning and Shrimp:
    • Stir in the Old Bay seasoning, minced garlic, and lemon halves. Then, add the shrimp and mussels (if using) to the pot. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and the mussels open up.
  4. Drain and Serve:
    • Carefully drain the contents of the pot using a colander. You can line the serving area with parchment paper or newspaper for a fun presentation.
    • Pour the seafood boil onto a large platter or the lined table. Squeeze the lemon juice over the top and garnish with fresh parsley.
  5. Enjoy:
    • Serve with melted butter, additional lemon wedges, and your favorite dipping sauces. Enjoy your seafood feast!
